Why Rising Beyond Power and Control?
As I continued my journey training mental health professionals and working with the small caseload of clients in my private group practice, I realized one major thing...there is STILL not enough support for victims and survivors of domestic violence and narcissistic abuse from the folks that actually get it.
You are still struggling to find support!!!
This may look like not having enough education and verbiage to understand your experience or to share what is going on in your home with your family or friends. It may be that you do not know where and how to find the right resources; be that mental health, financial, legal, or housing resources. Or it may be that after all of the isolation of an abusive relationship, you REALLY need to find others to talk to who will not judge you and who WILL believe your experiences.

To forgive is to grieve – for what happened, for what didn't happen – and to give up the need for a different past.

Being trauma-informed does not mean you allow folks to be hurtful without consequence. Trauma may explain hurtful behavior, but does not excuse it.
